What is High Impact Tutoring?

Tutoring is a form of teaching, often conducted one-on-one or in small groups, aimed at achieving specific learning objectives, but not all tutoring is the same.  High-impact Tutoring can lead to significant learning progress for students by enhancing their classroom experiences rather than replacing them. As LEAs consider how to best facilitate learning acceleration, many are considering high impact tutoring (HIT), as there is strong evidence that high impact tutoring is one of the most effective ways to increase learning gains for students.

Education Service Center, Region 20 is seeking candidates to fill tutoring positions in response to the COVID-19 Learning Supports grants. We are actively recruiting retired teachers, current educators, paraprofessionals, students, and community members, who wish to work in these positions. These positions have the flexibility of working face-to-face or virtually across ESC-Region 20 based on your availability. Interested individuals will be paired with a local education agency, district, or charter, seeking your expertise to begin the hiring process. ESC-Region 20 will assist all interested tutors in completing the necessary training as required by vendors selected by the hiring local education agency, district, or charter.
