Beginning Teacher Support Training

Research shows that beginning teacher development happens in stages. Stage 1, first year of teaching, is called the Survival Stage. Stage 2, two through four years of teaching, is considered the Adjustment Stage. Finally, Stage 3 is labeled the Mature Stage for the teachers who stay in the profession for five years and beyond. One way to support a beginning teacher and assist them in moving through the stages is high quality professional development. The attached brochure outlines the staff development being offered from June 2014-May 2015 for teachers new to the profession.
