Title I Statewide Parental Involvement Conference
Region 16 ESC and the Title I Statewide School Support and Family & Community Engagement Initiative is excited to invite you to the 2016 Statewide Parental Involvement Conference, December 8-10, 2016, at the AmericanBank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas. This will be the 12th year of this amazing event. The conference will provide opportunities for educators, parents, and community leaders to learn strategies for empowering all stakeholders to increase student achievement and to meet the required mandates of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.

The conference, "Catch the Wave" promises to build the capacity of all the participants in the family and community engagement arena. If every child is going to succeed, it is paramount that we all work together as one! Working together, we can divide the tasks and multiply the success.

Texas Education Agency (TEA) staff will offer multiple concurrent sessions that will provide the most up to date ESEA/ESSA requirements and legislative/reauthorization updates in family and community engagement. The top parental involvement practitioners from around the state will offer presentations demonstrating evidence-based research practices and strategies that will result in increased family and community engagement, as well as higher achievement for all students. There will also be a series of workshops provided in Spanish and translators will be provided at all the pre-conference and general sessions.
