Hello. My name is Charlotte Tondre and I work for Education Service Center Region 20, Living Science Department. What is living science you ask? Living Science is where your teacher can check out cool materials like snakes, turtles fish... Oh you know what, follow me, let's go inside and take a tour. Welcome to our beautiful living science building. As said before the living science department is a cool place where teachers can order their materials needed to make lessons effective, fun and impact student learning in a positive way. Starting in this corner, we have kits on various life cycles, native insects, rocks and minerals and Texas Wildlife trunks. Right next to this is our culture table. This where microorganisms like fruit flies are cultured. Moving into an area I like to call the Critter Cove. This is where we care for our smaller animals. These animals are available to teachers with a checkout time of two weeks. Over in this area is where we keep our collection of various fish All the species will live comfortably if housed together. This is where we keep our Red-Eared Slider babies until they are big enough to join the others down at the pond at our shade house. This is where we care for all 48 of our snakes.  All of our snakes are non-venomous and the species we provide are These cute furry animals are quite popular when it comes to having a classroom pet. Here is an example of a butterfly life cycle kit. Inside the kit is a resource that list the contents inside, this includes a National Geographic "Caterpillar to Butterfly" book, a poster, various models of stages of life and a brochure. Begonias, Coleus, Succulents and Geranium well as some water plants like Duckweed Hornwort and Elodea. There is the female, the male and five pinkies that were just born three days ago. This is our general washing station where we wash, rinse and sanitize all of our equipment. This hose is used to fill up the aquariums and these two containers which is then treated with a water conditioner that is used to package fish boxes. Welcome to our shade house This is where all of our adult Red-eared Sliders happily live in our man-made pond. They spend the majority of their time basking in the warm sun. Some enjoy our company very much. To wrap up the tour we are ending in the greenhouse. This is where we care for it and propagate all of our plants.
