ELAR TEKS (Adopted 2017)
The State Board of Education (SBOE) gave final approval on May 10, 2017, for new English and Spanish language arts and reading TEKS for Kindergarten–8 to be implemented in classrooms beginning with the 2019-2020 school year. The new K–8 ELAR TEKS are available on the TEA rules page with “Adopted 2017" in the title. The SBOE gave final approval on June 23, 2017, for new English and Spanish language arts and reading TEKS for high school.
The new high school TEKS were implemented in the 2020-2021 school year. The new ELAR TEKS are available on the TEA rules page with “Adopted 2017" in the title. View the new ELAR TEKS.
