The U. S. Department of Education's Office (DOE) of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is the funding source of the Technical Assistance Center that provides assistance to schools, districts and states build capacity for implementing positive behavior intervention supports. Through a multi-tiered system of support, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) improves social, emotional, behavioral and academic skills students require in order to learn, feel safe and be successful in school.
Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) is a state-level training mandated by Senate Bill 1196 and the Texas Administrative Code §89.1053 which is designed to provide knowledge for the use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports for all students, including those with disabilities, procedures for the use of restraint and time-out.
