Customized Technical Training
ESC-20 offers customized technical training you select for delivery at your location. ESC-20 Infrastructure and Network Services staff provides technical training to meet each district’s individual needs. Training can be provided at In-services to meet professional development requirements.
Cyber Security Escape Room
We now are able to conduct a Cyber Security Escape Room at your location to train your faculty and staff on cyber security awareness. Through Living Security’s innovative “Cybersecurity Escape Room in a Box”, your district can build security awareness concepts into an engaging team experience people actually enjoy. With this offering, game play, physical activity, and social learning is incredibly successful in both boosting a positive security culture as well as increasing retention and personalization for participants on security topics.
How it Works:
During gameplay, participants will be exposed to security violations of all shapes and sizes and consider risk (close-to-home) in a whole new light. By finding and rectifying these security violations in a physical setting, the team will intuitively learn how to rapidly identify and react to similar violations in real life. These violations are not arbitrary, but rather tailor-made to client specifications according to real policy abuses observed in the workplace in an effort to address systemic problems at their root.
This approach is modeled after industry best practices in gamification and interactive user experience, taking between 30-40 minutes among 8-10 participants. It is what they call a “basic-concept training” experience that will cover a broad spectrum of fundamental security issues without progressing into intermediate or advanced concepts.
Learning objectives include:
- How to identify a phishing email
- Risk of leaving your workstation unlocked
- Why USB's are an enormous risk
- Importance of strong passwords
- How to assess an email for maliciousness by finding indicators
- Importance of sanitizing whiteboard when leaving conference rooms
- Risk of leaving badge unattended
- Don't write your password on a sticky note
- Always follow through with your security protocols
- Don't leave your keys lying around
- Properly secure/destroy sensitive information
- You never know whos listening
- Do not leave your badge out
- How attackers craft phishing emails
- Do not accept unknown social media connections
- Understand the risk you are putting yourself
If you are interested in learning more about how the set up works and how this interactive training approach reinforces positive security behaviors across the district, contact Mike Garcia.
