The Bilingual/ESL Cooperative is a cooperative agreement between ESC-20 and districts that provides program assistance for bilingual/ESL program development. Fees are based on refined district LEP population. Technical assistance and professional development are included based on levels of participation. Services provided through the co-op include, but are not limited to:
- Directors’ meetings to receive information on program guidelines and best practices, network, and collaborate for the improvement of student performance
- Training for Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC)
- Technical assistance on Performance Based Monitoring
- Technical assistance on campus planning for improved student performance
- Planning and development
- TExES review and certification preparation
- Region-wide staff development opportunities for bilingual/ESL program teachers to include the following areas:
- Integration of instructional strategies for bilingual/ESL students
- Curriculum modification and/or implementation strategies for bilingual/ESL students
- Assessment instruments, such as Woodcock-Muñoz, LAS Links and Tejas LEE
