The Alamo STEM Workforce Coalition (ASWC)

The Alamo STEM Workforce Coalition was formed in 2015 as a result of the partnership between Workforce Solutions Alamo, ATEAMS/SAMSEC, ESC Region 20, P16 Council of Bexar County, and UTSA ATE. This partnership extended and enhanced what ATEAMS/SAMSEC and UTSA ATE were doing to engage teachers with employers in learning how math and science were being applied in the real world. The success of 2015 resulted in additional funding for 2016 and the addition of SA Works, this has carried us on into this summer!

The goal of the Alamo STEM Workforce Coalition is to increase student awareness of careers in the Alamo region to be better prepared for those careers. More than 150 teachers have traveled to employer sites for the past several summers to learn how math and science are applied in real-world workforce settings. During these professional development days, we provide teachers, counselors, and other educators with the tools they need to go back and educate their students and peers.

Summer 2021 - All Virtual, flexible times to complete and stipend offered!
