The Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) is dedicated to supporting both families and professionals who serve students with autism across a wide range of educational settings.
Our goal is simple: to build capacity, strengthen practices, and create environments where students with autism can truly thrive.
Through meaningful collaboration, we provide staff development and technical assistance designed to empower districts and families in supporting student success.
Our Services
Our trainings are thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse and evolving needs of students and school systems. Topics include:
- Communication and language development
- Social skills and peer interaction
- Assessment and progress monitoring
- Academic and instructional supports
- Self-help and independence skills
- Evidence-based instructional practices
- Current research and practical application in autism
We focus on strategies that are not only research-based but also realistic, practical, and immediately usable in classrooms.
Technical Assistance and Support
We provide on-site and ongoing support to help districts move from learning to implementation.
This includes:
- Coaching on visual supports and structured strategies
- Guidance on effective instructional practices for students with autism
- Support with program development and classroom systems
- Assistance with state requirements, including:

- In-home training
- Parent training
