Library Services

ESC-20 supports regional librarians and library staff in their efforts to develop and sustain effective school library programs. Support is provided through the annual ESC-20 Library Resource Roundup Conference ; professional development workshops highlighting trends, innovations, and best practices in school libraries; and access to resources through the Educational Resources Cooperative. ESC-20 also serves as the educational partner for TexQuest, a program of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in support of K-12 libraries, and is the home of the TexQuest Support Center.

An annual event highlighting the value of effective school library programs. Attendees gain insight from experts and peers, experience hands-on opportunities with trends and technologies, hear from national level authors and presenters, and learn about the latest products and services. A full slate of 50+ breakout sessions are offered. All educators are welcome to attend.

Includes access for participating districts to a variety of resources and services in support of instruction in all content areas. Educational Resources Co-op participation includes access to online academic resources, subscription to the Living Science Materials Program, and weekly Van Delivery Service.

Membership provides access to TexQuest digital online subscription resources including eight (8) professional development sessions targeting integration. Also includes attendance at the regional Library Resource Roundup Conference at a reduced cost to members.

Also includes attendance at the regional Library Resource Roundup at a reduced cost to members.
 

Living Science materials provided to teachers in Educational Resources Co-op member school districts include over 100 living specimens! Teachers can order small mammals (hamsters, rats, mice and gerbils), non-poisonous snakes, fish, live frogs, plants, flower and vegetable seeds, micro-organisms, preserved specimen, prepared petri dishes and de-ionized water.

ESC-20 provides weekly van delivery services to all districts participating in the Educational Resources Cooperative.

TexQuest is a collection of digital instructional resources for K-12 public and open-enrollment charter school districts, partially funded by the state legislature and district participation fees. ESC-20 serves as an education partner to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and coordinates training and outreach.

ESC-20 provides access to digital samples of instructional materials under consideration for use in Texas classrooms. Additional information also provided on the following: legislation, issues related to the instructional materials allotment (IMA), the adoption cycle for foundation and enrichment subjects, news, and updates.
