Living Science Materials Center
The Living Science Department provides school districts, that have joined the Living Science Program, access to both living and non-living science-related materials for classroom use. We have a variety of items that teachers can combine with their lesson plans, creating a hands-on learning experience for their students.
Living items include: Plants, micro-organisms, cultured bacteria, fish, amphibians, non-venomous reptiles, invertebrates (crickets, red wigglers, mealworms, isopods, tarantulas, hissing cockroaches and crayfish), and small mammals (hamsters, rats, mice and gerbils).
Non-living items include: Preserved specimens, agar prepared petri dishes and slants, science study kits/models, TWA trunks, vegetable and flower seeds and de-ionized water. View a complete list of items available.
If TWA Trunks are unavailable,
you can request them straight from the Texas Wildlife Association.
