Classroom Management

CHAMPS by Randy Sprick - A Proactive and Positive Approach to Classroom Management.

Love and Logic: Through this staff development, based on Jim Fay’s Love and Logic philosophy, educators will experience the 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom. Participants will learn and become equipped with practical techniques that: are simple and easy to learn; teach responsibility and character; change lives and lower stress levels; and have immediate and positive effects on students and schools.

The following are resources which will help teachers strengthen their classroom management skills thereby reducing behavioral disruptions and office referrals and boosting student achievement.
Love and Logic - This program pairs caring and natural consequences to teach responsibility.
Discipline with Dignity - A program that specializes in working with students with aggressive behaviors.
Harry Wong's First Days of School - This author is dedicated to helping teachers improve their practice.
OSEP Ideas that Work - Supporting and Responding to Behavior: Evidence-Based Classroom Strategies for Teachers. The purpose of this document is to summarize evidence-based, positive, proactive, and responsive classroom behavior intervention and support strategies for teachers. These strategies should be used classroom-wide, intensified to support small group instruction, or amplified further for individual students. These tools can help teachers capitalize on instructional time and decrease disruptions, which is crucial as schools are held to greater academic and social accountability measures for all students.
